UNM Online Workshop-Transforming Stressful and Traumatic Events October 22, 2022

Are you ready to reclaim your life after trauma?

This last year has been one of extraordinary stress and trauma for most all of us. Natural disasters, a global pandemic, community violence - few of us have lived through a year in which so many traumatic things happened to so many.

In a time of unprecedented suffering and upheaval, unprecedented skill is needed to retain our humanness. That is, to retain our clarity and peace of body and mind as daily we face the challenges confronting our communities. If your skill set in this direction could use a tune up, consider joining us online October 22, 2022 for a 6 hour workshop. You will learn tools that will enable you to:

  • Release distressing memories, flashbacks, and feelings of numbness, hopelessness and shame.
  • Let go of hypervigilance, physical tension, and reactivity to environmental triggers.
  • Experience increased peace and joy and sound, restorative sleep.

This workshop does not provide individual or group psychotherapy, nor is it intended to be a substitute for these.

The above video describes our intensive retreat. This workshop will be a condensed version.

What Past Participants are Saying

“I feel both encouraged and empowered.”

Before this retreat I really struggled to find a way through PTSD. I found it amazing to connect so authentically with other participants. As a result I learned to accept myself and discover who I really am in ways I was too terrified to do prior to the retreat. Utilizing the yoga and CBT tools I lost my fear, healed myself and overcame my self-defeating beliefs. I feel both encouraged and empowered.

“I’m leaving with gratitude and a plan of action to bring about real change in my life.”

The combination of identifying my pervasive negative thoughts and disputing them (the CBT tools) and clearing my mind of all thoughts (the yoga) gave a powerful one-two punch to the old story I’ve walked around with for years. I’m leaving with gratitude and a plan of action to bring about real change in my life, starting today! Thank you.

"I see a future with more hope and less fear"

Before this retreat I was struggling to reset myself after a PTSD episode. Through the combination of CBT techniques and the carefully crafted sequences of Kundalini Yoga, I now feel as if I have solid tools to regulate my physical and cognitive symptoms. I see a future with more hope and less fear.

"I now feel relaxed, at peace, loved, and a part of the human race."

I was struggling with anger and irritability as a result of PTSD. At the retreat I had a break through of finding tools to communicate with others. I now feel relaxed, at peace, loved and a part of the human race.
